Whether you’re a recent arrival or a five-year veteran, I see you as more than just a reader. I view you as stakeholders, even as I shy away from commercial labels. Writing here has changed my life, largely because many of you have become dynamic participants in the unfolding chapters of my story.
I share with you first the ideas I have, the ideas I’m promoting, the opportunities I’m trying to create, for you and me. So, I want you to be the first I invite to participate in all that I’m up to lately, and I hope you feel at least a little bit that these things really are especially for you.
Deep Fix Podcast
Okay, after years of hemming and hawing, this is finally going down! I’m ridiculously stoked to share the first several episodes in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please check out the trailer:

Life Not Wasted
I’m creating my first online course! It’s called Life Not Wasted, and in that spirit, I intend it to be a wildly refreshing take on how to overcome modern addiction.
Because today, more than ever, addiction is a spectrum that virtually everyone finds themselves on, whether your drug of choice is Oxy, seemingly harmless alcoholic seltzer water, deceptively potent bio-engineered cannabis, Adderall, e-vapes, PornHub, or TikTok.
In other words, this course is designed specifically for folks with mild-to-moderate dependencies. It distills everything I have learned over the years, as both a person in recovery and one who seeks to innovate in the field, applying my unique perspective on addiction itself.
At some fundamental level, we all chase objects and experiences, believing that something outside of us will make us happy. And virtually any object or experience can become addictive. Especially those that are designed to be so. (Ahem, social media.)
In this age of great technological prowess, we have at our disposal extraordinary and innovative means of expanding our consciousness and broadening our perspectives. Habit change, especially when it comes to relinquishing harmful dependencies, is highly personalized—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.
But by combining a variety of behavioral, somatic, psychological, practical, and spiritual methods, this course intends to teach you a “meta move” to overcome any kind of modern addiction—that can then be applied to many other aspects of modern life. The course is self-paced, meaning that you’re in control of choosing the set practices that most vibe with your fabulous uniqueness. For instance, the course will also inform whether you should use psychedelics in your efforts toward recovery, and how to do so, if that’s of interest to you.
My intention is not to brand or stigmatize you as an addict or tell you that you must “unburden all your trauma” to stop doing the thing you want to stop doing. I simply want to lower Recovery’s barriers to entry and fill what I see as a major gap in the space. You don’t need to be slamming H into your veins to benefit from the many daily gifts granted by Recovery. Think of it like this: Sprained ankles benefit from physical therapy just as broken necks do. In a certain sense, we’re all limping these days.
And life is better when you can walk freely.
I’m looking for the first batch of people interested in testing out this course in the coming months. If that’s you, I’m offering a limited number of slots at $50 (the course will eventually cost more than this, likely in the $350 range). Sign up here:
Sons of Now
We have one spot open in the men’s group I founded, Sons of Now. This project has wholly exceeded my expectations. If you (or a dude you know) hungers for a weekly communion among a group of ten incredible men, share this missive. Our inaugural face-to-face retreat is the weekend of February 2nd amidst the rugged embrace of Northern California—so it’s an excellent time to get involved.
Also, for those who want an experiential taste of men’s work before joining a dedicated weekly group like this, check out the retreat I am co-hosting with Jonny Miller in March of 2024: Deep Reset Retreat.
Natura Care
If you’re new here, I am the co-founder of an interdisciplinary addiction non-profit program that harnesses psychedelics. We are doing a major fundraising push: if you are a visionary donor who wants to see more of this work in the world, or you know people you think would vibe with it, please keep us in mind.
In the meantime, check out this video produced by my friend Dan Hilsinger, who filmed on-site with us this year, beautifully capturing the spirit of our program. I’m proud of this project and of the impact we’ve made in such a short time.
Direct Coaching
I run a private coaching practice, working mostly with founders, artists, executives, people overcoming addiction, and those interested in psychedelic therapy. This is one of the most rewarding things that I do and, other than my writing, the thing that feels least like “work.” If you’d like support, let me know.
Thank you
I couldn’t do any of this without you—thanks for reading and being here for it.
Please treat this like an open thread. Any other topics you’d like me to write about? Interesting ideas/essays you’ve stumbled upon? Work of your own you want to share? Cat videos that’ll make me cry?
Bring on the pod!
Just signed up for your course, it sounds incredible - hoping it will help me stay off socials 🥰 Excited to learn from you.
